ABOUT

Sgt. Tyler Huffman

“It lets me feel like a man again!" said former Marine Sgt. Tyler Huffman, explaing what it means to receive a Ford F-150 truck that has been adapted for use by an amputee or paralyzed veteran.  The annual Purple Heart Truck Run, sponsored jointly by the MOPH and the Wounded Warriors Family Support, traverses the country to raise awareness of the need for mobility for our nation's disabled veterans.  At the end of the run, the keys to the truck are given to an amputee who is chosen from nominees from every State Department of the Military Order of the Purple Heart.

“I wanted to provide some feedback on my positive experience with MOPH NSO Lori Wilka.  She took on my pending appeal after it had been erroneously closed out by the VA.  In sum, with her assistance, my appeal was granted in full and 10 years retroactively.  The thoroughness and personable experiences I experienced with Ms. Wilka has prompted me to always recommend her and the MOPH to my military buddies asking for assistance with their claims. Every one of them, without question, thanks me for the recommendation and tells me how much MOPH has helped with their claims.”
